Soapstone Sculptures
Most of the sculptures you will see in the gallery are carved from Brazilian soapstone.
Brazilian soapstone is renowned for its wonderful coloration, ranging from rich coffee browns to cool greens, often with veins of red, black or gold colored mineral deposits and is a favourite medium for many carvers.
Being self-taught, my pieces do not follow any prescribed style and reflect my interpretation of the particular subject matter, this makes my pieces uniquely different.

This large very detailed masterpiece honours the spirit and strength of First Nations people. Hundreds of hand carved beads and 'through' carved feathers are among the many details on this sculpture. Weighing approximately 125 pounds and stands 20 inches tall. The sculpture is presented on a large tree trunk base dressed with leather and mounted on a rotating base.
